A housing fund is a financial mechanism for supporting the development and preservation of affordable housing. Housing funds are more flexible than state and federal funding sources as the program can be designed to address specific identified needs in the community.

Feasibility Study 

To advance one of the SJCOG board’s regional housing priorities, the agency is utilizing REAP planning funds to develop a Regional Housing Trust Fund (RHTF) Feasibility Study.

Tasks within the scope of work for the project include:

• identifying potential mechanisms for generating dedicated revenue
• conducting needs assessment to inform programming priorities for that dedicated revenue
• receiving stakeholder input (via a steering committee) 
• developing an administrative plan
