Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports
State law requires that all general-purpose local governments publish a complete set of financial statements presented in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and audited in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards by a firm of licensed certified public accountants. This must be done within six months of the close of each fiscal year.
Annually, SJCOG publishes the Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR). The report gives an overview of the agency's financial condition, including its assets, revenues, and liabilities.
SJCOG is honored to have received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting every year since 1999. The Certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government agency and its management.
