Supports are all that remain of the 1950s-era Austin Road Overcrossing, or bridge, in Manteca. The overcrossing is being removed as part of the State Route 99/120 Connector project and will be replaced later with a wider structure to span a wider State Route 99 and Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

The San Joaquin Council of Governments and its partners broke ground on the State Route 99/120 Connector project on July 17, 2024.

U.S. Rep. Josh Harder, seated next to SJCOG Executive Director Diane Nguyen, attended the State Route 99/120 Connector groundbreaking and spoke to the crowd of about 100.
