Video: Another major milestone for SR 99/120 Connector – last girder in place for Austin Road bridge

San Joaquin Council of Governments’ (SJCOG) State Route 99/120 Connector project in Manteca recently hit another major milestone as crews installed the last girder for the new, longer Austin Road overcrossing.
 
The new Austin Road bridge will span a wider State Route 99 and Union Pacific Railroad tracks. SJCOG celebrated the achievement by releasing a video featuring Stockton Mayor and SJCOG Board Chair Christina Fugazi.

The video showcases the impressive progress across the corridor and the momentum that is building as crews move to the next phase of construction. With more than 180,000 vehicles traveling through the State Route 99/120 interchange each day, this project is delivering long-awaited improvements. Once completed, the upgrades will improve safety, ease traffic congestion, enhance mobility and goods movement, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions for better air quality.

The project remains on track for completion in summer 2026.

Video: Otro gran hito para el Conector SR 99/120: la última viga instalada para el puente de Austin Road.


El proyecto del Conector de las carreteras estatales 99/120 del Consejo de Gobiernos de San Joaquín (SJCOG) en Manteca alcanzó recientemente otro gran hito cuando las cuadrillas instalaron la última viga del nuevo y más largo paso elevado de Austin Road.

El nuevo puente de Austin Road abarcará los carriles adicionales de la carretera estatal 99 y las vías de Union Pacific Railroad. SJCOG celebró este logro publicando un video con la participación de la alcaldesa de Stockton y presidenta de la Junta de SJCOG, Christina Fugazi.

El video muestra el impresionante progreso a lo largo del corredor y el impulso que se está generando mientras las cuadrillas avanzan hacia la siguiente fase de construcción. Con más de 180,000 vehículos que transitan diariamente por el cruce de las carreteras estatales 99/120, este proyecto está ofreciendo mejoras largamente esperadas. Una vez completadas, las mejoras aumentarán la seguridad, reducirán la congestión del tráfico, mejorarán la movilidad y el movimiento de mercancías, y reducirán las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero para una mejor calidad del aire.

El proyecto continúa en camino para completarse en el verano de 2026.
