Measure K has been connecting the dots for the region since San Joaquin County voters approved the half-cent sales tax for transportation projects in 1990 for 20 years. After seeing Measure K’s success and progress, nearly 78 percent of county voters renewed the sales tax in 2006 for another 30 years. That’s money for street, roads and freeways, public transit networks, pedestrian and bicycle friendly programs, and Smart Growth improvements. Measure K, administered by the San Joaquin Council of Governments for transportation improvements in San Joaquin County, delivers priority transportation projects residents depend on every day.
