Vanpool Incentives

Vanpools are one of the most effective transportation options to reduce congestion and
improve air quality in the region. To encourage commuters to consider a pooling option,
Measure K provides each vanpool a financial incentive. This resulted in
104 vanpools
being formed, removing approximately 900 cars off the road.

Park and Ride Lots

Park and ride lots offer a convenient location to transfer from a single passenger vehicle
or bicycle to a carpool, vanpool, or transit option. Over
 100,000 residents commute
outside of the county. Measure K funds three lease lots that provide commuters a
meeting place typically before a long journey. All three lots together have an average
occupancy rate of

over 80%
