The Regional Early Action Planning (REAP) program is a grant program funded by the State of California to help regions, cities and counties with planning activities accelerate housing production and facilitate compliance in implementing the sixth cycle of the Regional Housing Needs Allocation. SJCOG will receive approximately $2.4 million in REAP funds. This is a historic program allocating the first ever regional funding for planning activities related to housing, which will be utilized by SJCOG and local agencies for housing planning purposes, as well as to advance regional housing priorities. Funds can be used for technical assistance, establishing housing trust funds, RHNA/Housing Element planning, infrastructure planning, feasibility studies, staffing and consulting needs, and other uses. REAP funds cannot be used for housing construction activities. Learn more about the program here.
