2022 Envision Logo

SJCOG has started to update its Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (RTP/SCS). This effort is referred to as Envision 2050 which will result in the 2022 RTP/SCS that has policies and strategies to meet future challenges of the San Joaquin region such as growth of the e-economy resulting in increased telecommuting and internet shopping, and the widespread use of autonomous and connected electric vehicles. Besides having policies and strategies, the 2022 RTP/SCS will have a list of regional transportation projects that qualify to receive federal, state and local funds.

There will be multiple ways for you to get involved in Envision 2050. SJCOG is committed to receive public input early and often throughout the project development process as recommended by SJCOG’s Public Participation Plan. Public input received during the public participation process will have a strong influence on which strategies are chosen for the 2022 RTP/SCS. Opportunities for you to find out more about the 2022 RTP/SCS and get involved include the following:

Presentations or Workshops for Organizations (Starting May 3, 2021)

You can invite SJCOG to present a Zoom presentation on the 2022 RTP/SCS to your organization! The presentation and question/answer period will take 30 minutes and will cover basic information about the RTP/SCS and the proposed policies and strategies of the RTP/SCS. Please contact us to schedule a presentation. The presentation will be available starting May 3. We can also schedule a workshop with your organization with a fun and interactive exercise following the presentation (approximate total time for presentation and exercise – 50 minutes).

To schedule a presentation and/or workshop please contact Tim Kohaya ((209) 235-0389, kohaya@sjcog.org) or Hailey Lang ((209) 235-0582, lang@sjcog.org)

MetroQuest Survey (Mid-June Through July 2021)

You can help us choose the best strategies for the RTP/SCS! There will be a MetroQuest survey that will be active from mid-June through July. The survey will be an interactive and fun process where you will be prioritizing proposed strategies. The survey will take less than 10 minutes of your time to complete. You will be able to access the survey from this webpage once the survey is activated.

Received Public Input

A MetroQuest Survey was conducted during the Summer of 2020 that asked survey participants to prioritize the Strategy Pillars (Themes) of which the proposed 2022 proposed strategies will focus on. Strategy Pillars that received higher scores were those that were considered more important by the survey participants.
