2022 Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (Envision 2050)

SJCOG has started to update its Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (RTP/SCS). This effort is referred to as Envision 2050 which will result in the 2022 RTP/SCS that has policies and strategies to meet future challenges of the San Joaquin region such as growth of the e-economy resulting in increased telecommuting and internet shopping, and the widespread use of autonomous and connected electric vehicles. Besides having policies and strategies, the 2022 RTP/SCS will have a list of regional transportation projects that qualify to receive federal, state and local funds.

Public Participation

There will be multiple ways for you to get involved in Envision 2050. SJCOG is committed to receive public input early and often throughout the project development process as recommended by SJCOG’s Public Participation Plan. Public input received during the public participation process will have a strong influence on which strategies are chosen for the 2022 RTP/SCS. Opportunities for you to find out more about the 2022 RTP/SCS and get involved include the following:

Results of MetroQuest Survey

An online MetroQuest Survey was held between June 30 and August 31 and was available to the general public. Participants rated the proposed scenarios and strategies for the 2022 RTP/SCS. There were over 400 participants in the survey. Please use the following links to attain results of the survey.
