Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program
The Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) and the Strategic Growth Council (SGC) have announced the release of the
2015/16 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) of approximately $320 million for the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) Program.
AHSC grants are available for projects that integrate walking and bicycling improvements with affordable housing developments and transit connectivity, based on competitive criteria outlined in the program guidelines. Requirements for housing and transit project components vary based on the frequency of transit in the project vicinity and by the density of the community. The primary criteria for project selection is reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
Prospective applicants for the AHSC Program are requested to complete the SCS
Consistency Checklist and submit forms to SJCOG prior to the submittal of Concept Proposals. Additional information about the AHSC program can be found
